Job summary

Wheaton College invites applications for the Academic Director, Experiential Learning. The role is a full-time senior leadership position reporting to the Provost, coordinating with LCDI to broaden experiential pathways, leveraging Compass Curriculum, coursework and support structures.

Responsibilities include expanding internship courses, creating seminars, and partnering with faculty to embed experiential learning across curricula.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree and 5-10 years of teaching experience in higher education with background in career preparation and internships/externships, plus leadership in institutional service.
• Preferred: Doctoral Degree.

Responsibilities

• Expand the credit-bearing internship course across all programs and collaborate on host sites.
• Create seminars with LCDI and Academic Advising focused on professional skill development.
• Integrate experiential learning into existing courses or design new ones to meet goals.
• Develop mini modules for faculty to use in courses.
• Organize events and campaigns to boost student awareness of opportunities and resources.
