Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) invites applications for the Director of Experiential Learning. The role leads Credit for Prior Learning and Work-Based Learning, partnering with faculty and local employers to expand access to college credit for prior learning and to increase career-connected opportunities.

The director collaborates across Academic Affairs and Workforce Development to align pathways, assess outcomes, and scale experiential learning across PVCC’s service region.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, higher education administration, workforce development, or a related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, workforce development, or a related setting.
• Direct experience with CPL/prior-learning assessment and policy.
• Experience building partnerships with employers, industry, or community organizations.
• Proficiency with labor-market analytics tools and student-success platforms.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to serving adult learners and diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CPL policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Coordinate CPL credit evaluation and transcription with the Registrar.
• Lead work-based learning initiatives and employer partnerships.
• Map workforce training programs to credit certificates and degrees.
• Advance pathways from training to credentials and degrees.
