Job summary

Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin seeks an Associate Director for Exhibitions & Education to provide strategic leadership for exhibitions and related educational activities. Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in literature, theatre, film, photography, or art.
• At least seven years of progressive experience in library or museum education and exhibitions.
• Experience leading cross-departmental initiatives and complex projects.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Record of scholarly or professional publications.
• Flexibility to work on-site on some weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage rotating exhibitions (2–4 per year) and coordinate loans with the Registrar.
• Develop readings, lectures, and programs to amplify exhibition themes for diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with Education, Public Programs, and Visitor Services to engage learners of all ages.
• Represent the Exhibitions & Education Department on the senior leadership team and manage the annual budget.
