Overview




Provide leadership for Field Equipment teams including successfully coordinating and directing all activities within the team, while ensuring that all employees on the team comply with client, government, and corporate policies and procedures. This position focuses on the financial business side of our Field Equipment and Maintenance department ensuring that the repair and maintenance of equipment is done within budget. This position will also drive equipment maintenance and management initiatives, processes, and programs.

Location & Travel Details: This position can be remote and will require heavy business travel Monday - Friday to various project sites throughout the US. Candidates can expect to travel up to 70%. All travel costs would be covered by a corporate expense card.

Responsibilities




    Lead the Field Equipment teams on day-to-day operations, proactive planning to ensure project teams are set up for success and any escalated issues
  • Ensure repair, maintenance, and renting of assets does not exceed or affect the budget of a construction project
  • Drive new initiatives concerning onsite maintenance and equipment management
  • Maintain vendor relationships in existing and emerging markets
  • Provide direction and receive input from Operation teams concerning equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Negotiate the procurement (rental, lease, or purchase) of equipment contracts with vendors pertaining to field purchased supplies and small parts for the Field Team
  • Partner with the Field Mechanics and Field Equipment Managers to ensure that the equipment maintenance is kept at optimum level and begin discussions on next steps proactively
  • Ensure all sites are properly staffed with Field Mechanics to complete required repairs and maintenance on site
  • Implement and maintain a plan to accurately track utilization of equipment
  • Develop and implement work rules and Best Practices for the activities of Field Equipment teams
  • Discuss location of repairs with Director-Equipment Shops and Services to ensure availability, timeline, shipping, etc.
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations





Qualifications




Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
  • Seven to ten years' experience in an equipment, shop, or related role.
  • Previous experience working in an equipment department for a large-scale renewables or civil construction company is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company's Zero Injury principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and to prioritize tasks
  • Strong administrative and time management skills
  • Basic Heavy Equipment knowledge
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
