Job summary

Pelican Pointe Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in North Cape May, NJ is seeking a Director of Environmental Services to oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensure rooms are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for admissions, and maintain infection control standards across the facility.

The role leads a housekeeping team, coordinates with nursing, trains staff, manages supplies, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements to provide a clean, safe environment for residents,

Qualifications

• Previous EVS supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and infection prevention practices preferred.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, and coordinate a team for daily housekeeping operations throughout the facility.
• Attend daily morning meetings at 9:15 AM to review EVS/Housekeeping priorities.
• Monitor resident admissions/discharges and communicate with the nursing department to ensure rooms are promptly cleaned, sanitized, and prepared.
• Keep an updated record of anticipated and completed discharges to ensure timely room turnover and admission readiness.
• Ensure all resident rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces meet cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control standards per the state.
• Supervise, train, and support housekeeping staff to ensure efficient and consistent performance.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies and maintain adequate inventory.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
