Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a senior engineering leader to head the System Communication Engineering group, overseeing planning, design, operations, and maintenance of communications infrastructure in the Northeast Corridor. This role manages a workforce and collaborates with IT and stakeholders to meet strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; plus 11 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in designing, installing, and maintaining telecommunications, security, and radio infrastructure.
• Ability to interface with all levels of staff and external/internal customers.
• Willingness to coordinate with IT and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development of standards, specifications, and practices for communications infrastructure.
• Manage capital and maintenance programs for C&S.
• Coordinate with IT and project teams to define requirements and priorities.
• Represent the System C&S Engineering group with regulators and railroads.
• Maintain operating service level agreements and contracts for engineering systems.
