Job summary

UCT is seeking a Director of Engineering in Phoenix, AZ, to lead global corporate engineering initiatives, drive R&D and capital projects, and advance process technology across sites. The role emphasizes program management, safety, cost, and performance improvements for semiconductor equipment and manufacturing processes.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of leadership in semiconductor engineering, strong knowledge of process control, design of experiments, and high-level project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in chemical/mechanical eng, materials science, metallurgy, chemistry or physics.
• Master’s degree or higher preferred.
• 10+ years of directly related leadership in semiconductor equipment, process or parts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the program management of New Process Introduction (NPI) projects including new tools, fixtures, and installation support.
• Implement and refine process control standards and enhance global engineering training and methodologies.
• Manage Engineering personnel, prioritize tasks, and schedule projects across Design, Equipment, Process, and R&D teams.
• Oversee stage gate processes from R&D to High Volume Manufacturing or Technology Transfer to HVM.
• Coordinate with Operations Leaders for capital expenditures and ensure safety standards.
