Job summary

Novelis, a world leader in aluminum recycling and rolling, is forming a new North America engineering and operations support function. You will report to the SVP of Operations North America and lead senior engineers across plants, tolling operations, and quality teams.

You will establish governance, drive reliability and safety, and ensure capital projects align with strategic priorities, collaborating with executive leadership to hit operational and financial targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership in manufacturing engineering, quality, reliability, maintenance, capital projects, or related operations.
• Experience leading managers and multidisciplinary technical teams in a multi-site, matrixed manufacturing environment.
• Experience with project governance, feasibility and front-end engineering, capital justification, supplier management, and safe project execution.
• Broad knowledge of reliability fundamentals, rolling process fundamentals, advanced engineering and diagnostic analysis, and ROI financial analysis.
• Strong engineering judgment, systems thinking, prioritization, and ability to influence senior partners across boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a centralized engineering, reliability, maintenance, and quality org across North America.
• Ensure projects align with safety, regulatory obligations, and management-of-change expectations.
• Prioritize and deploy technical resources based on safety, customer impact, and business value.
• Provide governance for feasibility studies, front-end engineering, project development, execution, and ramp-up.
• Lead resolution of major plant and tolling quality issues via root-cause analysis and process controls.
• Advance reliability and asset performance through maintenance, PM/CM strategies, and outage support.
• Develop technical talent and communicate portfolio updates to senior leaders.
