Job summary

Broadcom Inc. seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the development of vSphere Kubernetes Service (VKS) and to influence the CNCF upstream community.

This role reports to Senior Leadership and defines the product vision while investing in upstream projects to deliver a premier Kubernetes experience. You will mentor a leadership layer of managers and staff engineers, drive the strategic roadmap, and ensure production-grade reliability and security for enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering leadership at scale with multiple teams.
• 7+ years delivering enterprise software related to Kubernetes/cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to translate business goals into a clear engineering roadmap and measurable outcomes.
• Experience recruiting, mentoring, and retaining technical talent.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple high-performing engineering teams focused on VKS core development.
• Define and execute Broadcom’s upstream contribution roadmap with CNCF SIGs.
• Own the end-to-end SDLC for VKS ensuring reliability, security, and day-2 operations.
• Partner with Architects, Product Management, and Program Management to align roadmaps.
• Advocate Broadcom in the CNCF ecosystem.
