Job summary

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort and Villas in Indian Wells, CA is seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee maintenance, safety, and capital projects across the property. Lead a diverse team, manage vendor relationships, and ensure high standards of service and operational excellence.

The role requires extensive facilities management experience, strong leadership, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds
• 6+ years progressive hotel or building management experience ( Hyatt preferred)
• Opening hotels pre-opening experience preferred
• Service oriented with strong presentations skills
• At least 6 years in a senior facility management role
• Strong leadership and English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and negotiate revisions with vendors and contractors
• Oversee maintenance of structures, facilities and systems
• Plan and direct capital expenditure projects
• Ensure compliance with building and safety codes
• Coordinate with corporate maintenance on projects
• Coach and develop staff to Hyatt service standards
• Maintain communications with Corporate Staff
