Job summary

BITZER US is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the engineering department, aligning technical direction with corporate objectives and ensuring design integrity across products. The role requires oversight of Sustaining, Development, and Advanced Technology, with accountability for budgets, schedules, and quality.

Travel to Europe 2–3 times per year is expected, and the position is based in Flowery Branch, GA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in a highly technical, precision manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of formal leadership experience managing multi-tiered engineering teams.
• Ability to effectively meet and communicate with employees, the public, and vendors using courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide overarching leadership and strategic vision to the entire engineering department, aligning engineering goals with BITZER US objectives.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Manage and optimize the engineering department budget, resource allocation, and project pipelines to meet production deadlines.
• Oversee Engineering activities across Sustaining, Development, Advanced Technology, and Services with strict config control of drawings, BOMs, and specs.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain to resolve design issues and ensure alignment with global BITZER standards.
