Join Our Team as the Director of Engineering and Architecture!

We’re looking for a dynamic and visionary leader to oversee the design and development of exciting new spaces! As the Director of Engineering and Architecture, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping our remodels, new construction, and industry-first locations. You’ll guide projects from initial concept through to development, ensuring they align with our company’s goals while fostering creativity and innovation. Responsibilities

As the Director of Engineering and Architecture, you’ll lead the creative and technical direction of construction projects across our growing organization. Your leadership will guide teams and ensure each project is executed with excellence, consistency, and innovation.

In this role, you will:

• Manage and mentor internal design teams on multiple construction and design initiatives

• Lead planning and execution of new store builds, remodels, and special project concepts

• Oversee and standardize architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plans

• Ensure ADA compliance and alignment with brand and operational goals

• Review architectural drawings and scopes to avoid change orders and construction delays

• Develop standardized equipment drawings and universal templates for efficiency

• Coordinate with vendors, architects, and engineers to optimize cost and design impact

• Collaborate with leadership to define master scopes for CAPEX and maintenance projects

• Manage soft cost budgeting, consultant bidding, and entitlement processes

• Train and support designers, architects, and third-party professionals on standards and best practices

• Incorporate field feedback and refine design documents for ongoing improvement

• Perform site visits and field inspections to support design intent and construction quality

Qualifications

We’re searching for a seasoned design and construction leader with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for turning big ideas into high-performing spaces. The ideal candidate brings a blend of architectural expertise, construction know-how, and strong leadership skills.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

• 7+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction project management
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex, multi-site projects
• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting tools
• Solid knowledge of MEP systems and ADA design standards
• Strong communication, budgeting, and analytical skills
• Experience in retail or convenience store construction (a plus)

• Some travel and on-site visits to active or transitional construction sites required

• Ability to lift moderate-weight equipment, climb ladders, and inspect rooftops

• Must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively in diverse environments

• Flexibility to work in changing climates and physical conditions
