Nuts.com, a Newark, NJ-based multi-channel DTC specialty food company, is seeking a Director of Engineering. You will lead a high‑performing engineering organization, shape architecture, and drive platform decisions across Shopify, NetSuite, and internal tooling.

The role partners with Product, Design, and Data to balance short-term delivery with long-term growth. You will hire and develop engineers, own strategic roadmaps, and help reduce key-person risk while fostering a culture of mentorship

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 6+ years of engineering management experience.
• Proven ability to hire, develop engineers and build senior engineers into leads.
• Experience leading in a vendor-heavy, integration-dense commerce stack.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing engineering organization with a culture of ownership and clarity.
• Own roadmaps and outcomes in partnership with Product, Design, and Data.
• Set technical direction and manage architecture across Shopify, NetSuite, and internal tooling.
• Develop engineers and mentors, expanding leadership depth across the team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to balance near-term delivery with long-term platform investments.
