We are looking for a Director of Engineering reporting to our CTO to lead and scale product-focused engineering teams in a dynamic, fast-paced SaaS environment. You will be a key leader in a company with multiple products, helping drive innovation, delivery, and cohesion across teams and time zones. You will foster a strong engineering culture that values growth, quality, ownership, and product excellence. Successful candidates have deep experience using a variety of programming languages and frameworks, exceptional leadership skills and a strong understanding of engineering trends.

What you'll be doing:

  • Champion engineering excellence and continuous development, cornerstones of our team culture.
  • Lead and grow multiple cross-functional engineering teams, fostering ownership, psychological safety, and connection in a remote, distributed setting.
  • Mentor engineers and managers across experience levels on architecture, design, SDLC, testing, and productivity.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Customer teams to predictably deliver roadmap priorities that balance features, technical quality, and platform evolution.
  • Drive alignment across product teams within the portfolio to ensure architectural cohesion, knowledge sharing, and scalable practices.
  • Establish and evolve feedback loops, rituals, and team operating models to improve delivery flow and team health.
  • Promote ongoing technical learning, exploration of emerging technologies, and modern practices.
  • Define and report team KPIs, goals, and progress to leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Shape long-term platform and infrastructure strategy with a focus on stability, security, and developer experience.

We're looking for people who have:

  • 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in a senior engineering leadership role managing 40+ engineers.
  • Proven success scaling teams delivering high-growth PLG SaaS products.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Deep hands-on experience in both backend and frontend development, with a solid understanding of software architecture.
  • Strong familiarity with Agile, Kanban, or Shape Up methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical, product, and go-to-market stakeholders.
  • Track record of quickly learning and applying modern technologies and frameworks.
  • Passion for building culture, community, and alignment in remote-first teams.
