LHH in Florida is seeking a Director of Engineering – Manufacturing to lead engineering and manufacturing initiatives, drive automation, and support production goals. This hands‑on leader will work closely with operations to convert engineering ideas into practical improvements on the floor.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in manufacturing engineering, 3+ years in leadership, and a track record of implementing Lean and Six Sigma to boost quality, throughput, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership or management experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production operations, and process improvement.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading automation, equipment, or manufacturing technology projects.
  • Strong project management and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work directly with operators, production managers, and senior leadership.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Experience in a regulated or highly technical manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.
  • Oversee manufacturing engineering, process improvement, automation, and production support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, throughput, and cost.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support automation and technology improvements throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Analyze production issues and lead root cause and corrective action efforts.
  • Oversee new product introductions, process development, and manufacturing scale‑up.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are properly documented, validated, and maintained.
  • Develop and track engineering and manufacturing KPIs.
  • Manage engineering projects, budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Work directly with production teams and operators to identify and solve manufacturing challenges.
  • Ensure engineering practices meet applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support capital equipment projects, facility improvements, and new manufacturing technologies.
