Job summary

Greenbrier Senior Living in Cape Coral seeks a hands-on Director of Engineering to oversee the community’s maintenance, life safety, and operations. You’ll lead a team, manage budgets, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible maintenance or engineering leadership experience.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, apartments, hotels, or commercial facilities preferred.
• EPA Certification or the ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Experience with fire alarm systems, emergency systems, phone systems, and life safety equipment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct all building maintenance, engineering, and life safety operations.
• Lead preventative maintenance and work order programs to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, equipment, and common areas to identify repair and maintenance needs.
• Manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other building systems.
• Oversee vendors, contractors, and maintenance service providers.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, life safety, fire, and regulatory requirements.
• Administer the community Risk Management Program.
• Plan and oversee maintenance projects while managing departmental budgets.
• Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance policies and procedures.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and develop the Engineering department team.
• Maintain emergency preparedness plans and respond to facility emergencies as needed.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include:

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular walking, standing, bending, climbing stairs, reaching, kneeling, lifting, and carrying up to 25 pounds without assistance.
