Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering for Internal Combustion Engine Technology to build a high-performing team and set the technical strategy across engine hardware, controls, benchmarking, cost optimization, and advanced simulation.

This leader will drive 1-D/3-D simulation, CFD, FEA, and predictive analytics to meet reliability, emissions, and performance goals, partnering with business leaders to align investments with customer needs and market priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 15 years of progressive engineering experience related to internal combustion engines.
• 7 years of management experience.
• Experience with global product releases throughout the product life cycle.
• Experience leading engine analysis, simulation, or development teams.
• Experience with engine hardware, controls, and emissions.
• Familiar with GT-SUITE, CFD, FEA, and predictive analytics.

Responsibilities

• Designs and directs the work of the engines engineering function.
• Leads the application of 1-D and 3-D simulation, CFD, FEA, and predictive analytics.
• Develops roadmaps and aligns technology investments with customer needs.
• Manages departmental budget and expenses.
• Mentors and develops engineering talent.
