Pacer Group seeks an Executive leader to serve as Director of Emergency Services in Des Moines, IA. This onsite contract role oversees emergency services across three campuses, guiding quality, safety, staffing and financial performance while reporting to the Market CNO.

Ideal candidates will bring Level I Trauma Center experience, strong collaboration with physician leaders, and a decisive leadership style to drive patient flow, triage, and ED performance improvements across the organization.

Qualifications

• RN license in Iowa required.
• MSN or healthcare/business master’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive hospital/clinical management experience.
• Strong Emergency Department leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading large, multi-campus operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and people-development skills.
• Capability to manage quality, patient safety, staffing, operations and improvement initiatives.
• Ability to coach and support department/unit leaders.
• Visible, collaborative, and firm leadership style.
• Ability to work with physician leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to take 24/7 responsibility and participate in on-call rotation.

Pay Rate: $110/hr- $120/hr

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Executive Director of Emergency Services will provide strategic and operational leadership across three Des Moines campuses, overseeing emergency services, quality and safety, staffing, patient experience, and financial performance. The role reports directly to the Market CNO and will lead and develop department leaders while driving improvements in workflow, patient flow, triage, and overall ED performance. The ideal candidate should have strong Level I Trauma Center experience, be highly visible and collaborative, and possess a firm, confident leadership style.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Primary (Must-Have):

• Active RN license in the state of Iowa
• MSN or other healthcare/business-related master’s degree
• Minimum 5 years of progressive hospital/clinical management experience

• Staff & Leadership Management – Experience managing leaders, setting goals, monitoring performance, providing feedback, mentoring, and developing staff.
• Strategic Planning – Ability to develop strategic plans, partnerships, and programs that support organizational growth.
