Job summary

Realta Fusion Inc. seeks a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead design, development and integration of high-power electrical systems for magnetic mirror fusion devices.

This senior role oversees strategy, safety, reliability and cost goals while guiding teams through experimental campaigns toward commercial deployment. The ideal candidate has deep power systems expertise, proven leadership, and the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable electrical designs in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years electrical/controls experience in power-intensive settings.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams of 5+.
• Track record delivering high-power systems from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Define electrical engineering strategy from experimental to commercial deployment.
• Own power systems, distribution, magnet power supplies, plasma heating power systems.
• Oversee low-voltage design, PCB design, controls and diagnostics systems.
• Lead design reviews for high-power systems and plasma heating systems.
• Collaborate with physics, mechanical, and controls teams to meet requirements.
• Drive integration with mechanical, vacuum, cryogenic, and diagnostic systems.
• Model and analyze electrical designs for validation and optimization.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
• Build and mentor the electrical engineering team; set standards and processes.
• Recruit and develop engineering talent; manage budget and procurement.
• Present capabilities to investors and partners; coordinate with labs and vendors.
