Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to lead our safety program in Phoenix, AZ. This role develops and implements policies, conducts audits, and drives training to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operations.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in EHS management, strong leadership and communications skills, and a track record of building high-performing teams while maintaining rigorous documentation and budget controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS management.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
• Professional certification in EHS (e.g. CSP, CIH) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs to educate employees on safe work practices and procedures
• Manage the EHS budget and ensure that all expenditures are within budgetary constraints
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that EHS policies and procedures are integrated into all aspects of the organization
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS activities
• Stay up-to-date with changes in EHS regulations and standards and ensure that the organization is in compliance
• Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent future incidents
• Manage a team of EHS professionals and provide guidance and support as needed
