Job summary

The Goddard School in Reading, MA is seeking an experienced Director of Education to lead and strengthen our educational program. This hands-on role focuses on curriculum planning, developmentally appropriate practices, and ongoing teacher development.

You will partner with Operations and leadership to manage staffing, scheduling, supervision and day-to-day school operations while maintaining high standards for family engagement and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• 2–5 years as a Director in a licensed childcare center.
• MA Director I or II Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum implementation and development to ensure high-quality practices.
• Coach teachers through lesson planning, classroom practices, assessment, and PD.
• Foster a supportive learning environment for children, families, and staff.
• Drive collaboration and continuous improvement across teaching teams.
• Partner with Operations and leadership on staffing, scheduling and daily operations.
