Job summary

Justice Resource Institute Inc. is seeking a Director of Education for Littleton Academy, a residential program for latency-aged students. Lead the education department, oversee hiring, supervision, curriculum planning, and IEP development to support trauma-informed care.

You will collaborate with clinical, nursing, residential and admin teams to maintain a shared vision and strong relationships with families and partner agencies. A bilingual bonus and licensure support are available.

Qualifications

• Must have 21 years or older.
• Special Education Administrator certification or M.Ed SPED Admin with 1+ years supervisory experience.
• At least 5 years in special education with emotionally challenged youth.
• Excellent oral and written communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Littleton Academy’s education department: hiring, supervising, team-teaching as part of supervision, planning units, curricula, and IEP development.
• Coordinate with Clinical, Nursing, Residential and Administrative teams to align program vision and relationships with families and outside agencies.
• Provide leadership as meeting chair and school liaison with external partners.

Are you the Director of Education we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students!

Littleton Academy is a residential treatment setting for latency-aged students that specializes in trauma informed care. Littleton provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $72,000 to $97,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

JRI Provides Training So That

• YOU will be able to oversee Littleton Academy’s education department in hiring, supervising, team-teaching as part of supervision, evaluation and training, unit planning, curriculum planning, technology integration, IEP development, development and oversight of related systems to support these tasks.
• YOU will be able to work in tandem with Littleton Academy’s Clinical, Nursing, Residential Department and Administrative team to provide a shared vision of supportive and enriching programmatic services and to maintain positive relationships with outside agencies, families, and other involved parties.
• YOU will be able to provide leadership as a meeting chair, public school liaison, and among others.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Qualified candidates will have a Special Education Administrator certification or all of the following:
• M.ED Special Education/ SPED Administration.
• At least 1 years of experience as a supervisor and administrator.
• At least 5 years of experience working in special education with young adults with emotional disabilities.
• Experience working with youth in an alternative school setting or treatment program is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and leadership abilities.
• At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth.
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.
