Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

The Early Learning Director is responsible for planning, developing, and evaluating on-going activities of the YWCA Young Wonders Early Learning Center, the supervision of staff, maintaining active and open communication with families, and strong relationships with partnering agencies and other educational organizations. Job description is subject to change based on business necessity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be DCFS Director-qualified by meeting one of the following:
• Must have a degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
• Must have 21 college credits from an accredited university in ECE with 60 overall college credits AND a Business course.
• Must have 21 college credits from an accredited university in ECE with 60 overall college credits AND a Gateways Level 1 Directors Credential.
• Minimum 2 years of child care experience/teaching is preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience supervising staff.
• Knowledge of school age quality standards is preferred.
• Proficiency in English required. Proficient in at least another language helpful.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ideally available to start work on June 16, 2026.
