Director of E-Commerce Logistics – North America

Chronos Consulting is part of the Coberon Chronos Group, an award-winning global leader in permanent and temporary staffing, RPO and business process automation solutions for global multinationals. The Group owns and operates 41 offices worldwide.

Our client is a fast-growing and innovative online furniture manufacturing company.

IMPORTANT: Due to COVID, you will be working from HOME initially, until it is safe to return to the office and resume travel (all work tools will be provided). One of the Distribution Centers is located close to the Nashville airport. Travel will be about 30% to distributions centers in Utah, Texas, Canada and upcoming plans for expansion in Northeast USA and Mexico.

The Role:

This is a newly created role and reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain & Logistics. Due to expansion, we are seeking a strategic individual to join the team to develop and execute the corporate vision and logistics strategy, distribution network, and transport through the planning and execution. You will be responsible for:

1. Developing and implementing strategies for the e-commerce and retail segments to meet corporate objectives and making logistics a competitive advantage.
2. Creating, positioning, and deploying innovative, efficient, optimal and low-cost logistics solutions.
3. Defining logistics objectives: measuring them, analyzing the performance, and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
4. Improving and optimizing logistics for imported finished goods.
5. Handling the logistics budget (network, transport, resources, returns, etc.).
6. Optimizing and ensuring the contingency of the logistics network in Canada, USA and Mexico.
7. Driving “Continuous Improvements” and implementing “Best Practices.”
8. Working in an international environment and supporting the growth and development of the team.

The Requirements:

1. A degree in supply chain management, logistics, business or engineering coupled with 10+ years of experience in a similar position with demonstrated inspirational leadership.
2. Experience in online retail, e-commerce, is mandatory.
3. Strong team player, focused on process improvement with the ability to manage, coach, and provide training to direct reports.
4. Exceptional communication and analytical skills combined with a passion for solutions and innovations.
5. Willingness to travel 30% of the time and living in close proximity to an airport is required.
