Job summary

Boston Fusion is seeking a Director to own the technical direction, financial success, and growth of a portfolio of AI, autonomy, counter-AI, and human/machine teaming projects for the national security community. You will lead cross-functional teams, shape proposals with DARPA, IARPA, AFRL, ARL, ONR, and other DoD/IC customers, and mentor staff to advance programs.

You will collaborate with leadership on strategy, manage budgets, and communicate results through reports and briefings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical field and 10+ years of professional research and project management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large projects, including P&L ownership, in a contractor environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management, communication, writing and presentation skills.
• PhD in a relevant technical field preferred; DoD/IC experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and financial success (P&L) of a portfolio of R&D projects.
• Lead business development and capture efforts with DARPA, IARPA, AFRL, ARL, ONR, MDA and other DoD/IC customers.
• Interface with customers, travel to sites, shape business development efforts and communicate results.
• Lead project teams including subcontractors to meet specifications, budgets, and timelines.
• Provide strategic leadership in identifying research approaches, technical strategy, and program milestones.
• Coordinate training and development of technical staff and assign team members to projects.
• Develop employees' professional skills by providing direct feedback on performance.
• Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment across projects and departments.
