Job summary

The Office of Delegate Sam Rasoul seeks a Communications Director in Roanoke, VA to advance the office mission of helping people in Virginia. You will lead a digital organizing program, craft compelling content, and coordinate office messaging with the Chief of Staff.

You will manage a social media calendar, write engaging copy for multiple platforms, train leaders, and represent the office at community events while handling constituent services.

Qualifications

• Write compelling content for diverse social platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and TikTok.
• Experience in politics, nonprofit, or advocacy setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute Digital Organizing Strategy: implement a digital organizing program for campaigns and design branded assets.
• Manage and Deploy Digital Tools: use political data and digital tools to execute strategy.
• Provide Support: manage multiple digital campaigns for stakeholders; train leaders.
• Lead with Social Media Planning: maintain a detailed digital content calendar.
• Write and Proofread Content: craft copy for multiple audiences that inspires action.
• Coordinate Event Support: staff and represent the office at community events.
• Manage Office Operations: support office operations.
• Provide Constituent Services: respond to emails/phone calls and connect constituents with agencies.
