Indiana Historical Society in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Director of Content and Digital Engagement to direct the daily operations of the content studio. You will steer editorial planning, maintain content standards, and lead multi-format storytelling initiatives across departments.

Reporting to the VP of Content and Experience, you will supervise a small team and drive audience engagement through strategic content initiatives, analytics, and rights-compliant production.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading content strategy and editorial planning.
• Ability to translate scholarly material into engaging public storytelling.
• Comfort with video, audio, written, web, social, and digital formats.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage editorial calendar.
• Establish content standards for voice, tone, accuracy, accessibility, and rights.
• Lead topic selection for short-form content, podcasts, and exhibit-linked stories.
• Collaborate across departments to maximize digital content value.
• Ensure content is accurate, sourced, inclusive, and editorially responsible.
• Track and report performance indicators.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
