Job summary

Planned Parenthood Federation of America is seeking a Director of Development Operations (DevOps) Infrastructure Engineering to design, govern, and scale PPFA’s web server infrastructure in AWS. You will drive high availability, security, and compliance across global properties, partnering with AppDev, InfoSec, and business teams.

This hands-on leadership role requires 8+ years in infrastructure, strong Linux skills, and expertise in IaC, CI/CD, and security tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and 8+ years of industry experience required.
• Professional experience implementing nontrivial applications in Python, Typescript, and Bash required.
• Experience with compliance requirements and industry standards such as HIPAA, PCI, NIST, CIS, OWASP required.
• Strong Linux System Administration skills and extensive knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tooling and server patch management.
• 5+ years experience using Jenkins, Github, AWS, ECS, Nginx, Docker, PgSQL, Elasticache, OpenSearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Tenable, Splunk, SaltStack, Terraform.
• 5+ years experience with System Hardening Regimes and Techniques, and IDP/IDS tools like Palo Alto.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and governance of PPFA web server infrastructure, including PCI compliance.
• Architect scalable high-availability infrastructure across virtual machines, containers, and networks.
• Implement CI/CD tooling, security and compliance assets for PPFA websites in AWS.
• Provide Level 3 support and coordinate with AppDev, InfoSec, and product teams.
• Define security policies and conduct regular security reviews and remediations.
• Manage the Infrastructure shared service and governance with Senior Director.
