Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Director of Development for the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (FAES) in Columbus. This role builds relationships with prospective donors, manages a major gifts portfolio, and guides strategic solicitations to secure six- and seven-figure gifts.

The position reports to the Senior Director of Development and involves travel and collaboration across Advancement and Wexner Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience required.
• At least four years in fundraising with two years in donor cultivation and relationship building.
• Experience in proposals, solicitations and closing gifts is essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and cultivate a portfolio of prospective major gift donors.
• Lead solicitations and close gifts of $100,000 and above.
• Manage and develop a donor portfolio, including strategy, communications and stewardship.
• Supervise staff when applicable and collaborate across Advancement and university units.
