Job summary

West Virginia University Institute of Technology invites applications for a Director of Development to lead major gift fundraising and align donor strategy with campus priorities.

The successful candidate will manage a dynamic pipeline, cultivate and solicit gifts of $50,000 and above, and collaborate with the WVU Foundation and campus leadership to advance fundraising goals and student success initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of related education/experience.
• Minimum two years of experience in major/planned gift fundraising or similar direct client engagement.
• Executive presence, professional writing and business communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen WVU Tech's fundraising program with emphasis on major gifts of $50,000 and above; support annual and mid-level giving strategies.
• Manage a dynamic portfolio of major gift donors and prospects; qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward for WVU Tech.
• Serve as sole development officer for WVU Tech; collaborate with WVU Foundation and campus partners to advance fundraising goals.
• Act as a visible philanthropic partner across WVU Tech; build relationships with leadership, faculty, and staff to align priorities with philanthropy.
• Travel regionally and nationally to advance portfolio activity and donor engagement; coordinate with regional and foundation colleagues.
