Zusammenfassung

The Oakland Public Education Fund is seeking a Director of Development who will own fundraising and communications strategy for Oakland public schools, reporting to the Managing Director and leading the Development department.

This role builds and scales revenue strategies, partners with leadership and funders, and drives campaigns across major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and digital giving, with a hybrid work schedule and a strong emphasis on equity and community impact.

Qualifikationen

• 5-7 years of fundraising across multiple donor channels.
• Entrepreneurial track record building new fundraising programs or revenue streams.
• Experience cultivating donor relationships and managing campaigns.
• Strong written and oral fundraising communications.
• Knowledge of Bay Area funding community.
• Experience leading teams in a hybrid environment.

Aufgaben

• Design and oversee a multi-channel fundraising strategy (major gifts, donors, grants, digital giving, endowment planning).
• Lead frontline fundraising efforts and close gifts from high-value prospects.
• Collaborate with CEO and Board to align development plans with priorities.
• Test and scale new fundraising vehicles to diversify revenue.
• Coordinate with external communications to enhance fundraising messaging.
