Job summary

Columbia College Chicago seeks a Director of Development (Foundations and Corporations) in Chicago, IL to lead a major gifts portfolio and partner with the Senior Director of Development to grow revenue from institutional donors.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, you will manage prospects, craft proposals, and coordinate donor communications while maintaining a data-driven approach to portfolio management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of direct foundation and/or corporate giving experience.
• CRM-based experience (Ellucian, Salesforce, Blackbaud or similar).
• High degree of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
• Strong project management skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Meet goals and metrics for major gift work, including annual visits and revenue targets.
• Build and manage a personal portfolio of $50K+ prospects and donors.
• Conduct regular prospect meetings and personalized outreach to deepen relationships.
