Job summary

Heart Math Tutoring in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking an Executive Director to drive revenue through major gifts, school contracts, and partnerships. You will oversee development strategy and manage regional fundraising, including volunteers and events, within a hybrid work model.

Based in or near Winston-Salem, the ED will lead donor cultivation, grant writing, and collaboration with a national team. Anticipated start date is January 2027.

Qualifications

• Personal commitment to Heart's mission and values.
• Track record of fundraising success in Winston-Salem from individuals, corporations and foundations.
• Experience building and implementing an annual strategic development plan.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and manages multiple priorities.
• Proven leadership experience partnering with boards/committees with strong communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team; honest, respectful and direct.
• Experience with planned giving, capital campaigns, or grant writing (preferred).
• CFRE certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Secure resources in Winston-Salem to support Heart's program and grow the local budget.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of organizations, foundations, and individuals.
• Develop a comprehensive development plan for foundations, corporations, and individuals.
• Oversee regional development activities including capital campaigns, grants, donor records, and events.
• Collaborate with grant writer and donor relations manager on proposals and donor data.
• Monitor and report progress of the development program to the board and leadership.
• Liaise with program and finance teams to support fund development efforts.
• Lead Advisory Board engagement and recruit local champions.
• Recruit volunteers and strengthen school district partnerships.
• Represent Heart publicly and build statewide partnerships.
• Set Winston-Salem strategy and maintain collaborative relationships with Heart leaders.
