Job summary

CACF in New York City seeks a Director of Development and Communications to accelerate private philanthropy, focusing on foundations, major gifts, and annual giving, while strengthening CACF's communications and visibility.

This role reports to the Co-Executive Directors and collaborates with the Board to grow institutional and individual support and to build scalable fundraising systems for sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of nonprofit fundraising leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success securing major institutional and philanthropic support.
• Experience supervising staff and partnering with nonprofit boards.
• Creativity and strategic thinking in fundraising requests.
• Experience building new systems and SOPs.
• Experience creating multi-year fundraising strategies and budgets.
• Excellent writing, speaking, relationship-building, and PM skills.
• Commitment to equity and CACF's mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy across foundations, major gifts, annual giving, corporations, events, planned giving, and digital fundraising.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with leadership to enable effective asks.
• Lead institutional fundraising, grant proposals, reports, and stewardship.
• Lead fundraising for CACF's annual gala and other donor events.
• Build systems and SOPs for Development and Communications.
• Develop fundraising dashboards, KPIs, forecasts, and pipeline reports.
• Lead CACF's communications and marketing strategy to boost visibility and fundraising.
• Manage special campaigns (e.g., 40th Anniversary).
• Oversee communications staff, consultants, and future hires.
