Job Description

ISID is seeking an entrepreneurial and relationship-driven Director of Development and Strategic Partnership Consultant to shape the future of our organization through innovative revenue generation and long-term sponsorship strategies. This is a high-impact role designed for a dynamic professional with a proven track record in sales, fundraising, and corporate partnerships—particularly in the nonprofit or global health space.

You will be responsible for identifying new revenue opportunities, creating an inventory of sponsor and donor engagement options, and implementing a proactive outreach strategy. Working closely with the CEO/COO, you will vet partners for mission alignment, negotiate partnership agreements, and ensure the successful delivery of ISID obligations.

This role is a key driver of sustainable growth for ISID, with a focus on building multi-year funding relationships and expanding the organization’s base of unrestricted support.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Develop and lead ISID’s comprehensive sales and development strategy, aligned with organizational goals.
  2. Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective sponsors, donors, and strategic partners, including industry connections to support unrestricted medical education grants related to online content on ISID’s Knowledge Exchange.
  3. Create, price, and promote a catalog of sponsorship and partnership opportunities across ISID’s programs, events, and digital platforms.
  4. Design and deliver customized proposals and packages that meet client needs while aligning with ISID’s mission, with a keen understanding of challenges impacting those living and working in LMICs.
  5. Evaluate and vet potential partners to ensure alignment with ISID’s values and global health objectives. Familiarity and professional experience with key philanthropic foundations, industry, and allied health consortiums is a plus.
  6. Foster long-term, trust-based relationships with current and potential funders.
  7. Track partnership performance and ensure fulfillment of ISID’s obligations, reporting impact and outcomes clearly to sponsors.
  8. Work across departments to integrate development efforts into ISID’s broader programmatic strategy.

Qualifications

  • Proven success in a development, fundraising, business development, or sponsorship sales role—preferably within a nonprofit, global health, or scientific organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to close high-value, multi-year partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit funding models and revenue diversification strategies.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans, including major gifts, individual giving, foundation grants, and corporate sponsorships.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with external partners, including businesses, organizations, and individuals, to achieve mutual goals.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support.
  • Oversee the grant application process, from research and proposal development to reporting and compliance.
  • Identify new revenue streams and opportunities for growth through strategic partnerships and fundraising initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a self-starter attitude and the ability to thrive in a mission-driven, remote-friendly environment.
  • Comfort with a commission-based compensation model and results-oriented metrics.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFRE preferred.

Compensation

This is a commission-only Consultant position. Compensation is performance-based and reflects the value of the partnerships and revenue you generate.
