Description

ZRG Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with the Bridge Project in the search for a Director of Development.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Development will lead the Bridge Project's private fundraising strategy, overseeing individual giving, foundation and institutional support and fundraising events across a rapidly growing national organization and aligning fundraising activities and results to organizational priorities. The Director will be responsible for building a diversified, sustainable revenue base, cultivating and stewarding major donors, including the current support base of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, managing a portfolio of institutional funders, and building the systems needed to scale development operations.

The Director of Development will an experienced and collaborative fundraising leader who combines strong relationship-building instincts with the operational discipline to manage a growing donor pipeline and has experience managing small development teams. The Director will supervise and collaborate closely with the Bridge Development Manager.

The Bridge Project is the nation's first multistate direct cash program for moms and babies. They work to ensure no baby is born into poverty by investing directly in the perinatal period, centering mothers as storytellers and changemakers, and building a collective movement to successfully advance policies that strengthen families from the start. Since 2021, the Bridge Project has grown to 14 states across the U.S., committing $144+ million in direct, unrestricted cash support to over 4,450 moms and babies. Their model is simple: they give moms unconditional cash — no strings attached.

The Bridge Project's approach is simple yet transformative: unconditional direct-cash payments to expectant and new mothers. Why cash? Because it works. Cash is the most flexible resource they can offer, allowing moms to address each baby's unique needs without bureaucratic barriers or restrictions. This matters because every family's circumstances are unique, but the window for preventing poverty's damaging effects is universal and brief. Mothers don't need external guidance on what their babies require—they need resources to act on what they already know. Whether the funds go toward better housing, nutritious food, quality childcare, or education, they trust mothers to make the decisions that best serve their children's development and their family's well-being.

At least eight years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related fields, including senior-level donor management, is required for this position. The Bridge Project will consider candidates with a broad range of backgrounds. If you are excited about this role and feel that you can contribute to Bridge, but your experience does not exactly align with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $240,000.

  • employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)-retirement plan with employer contributions
  • $1,000 annual professional development allowance
  • paid parental leave
  • generous paid time off

The Bridge Project operates under a hybrid model, with the expectation that staff will work Monday through Thursday in-person in the New York City office.
