About The Non-Profit Organization
Our client is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children facing serious health challenges. Their mission is to provide programs and services fun, uplifting experiences that bring joy and relief to children and their families.

Position Overview
The Director of Development will be a key leader in the growth and sustainability of the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing and driving the foundation’s fundraising efforts, including individual and corporate giving, direct mail campaigns, social media campaigns, and donor cultivation. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and strategic thinker, passionate about children’s health, and skilled in relationship building, business development and donor stewardship. The Director of Development will work closely with the CEO and other key staff to expand the Foundation’s reach and maximize fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Campaign Management:
  • Execute direct fundraising campaigns through various channels, including events, direct mail, email, and social media.
  • Create and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes both short-term and long-term goals for annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns to ensure that fundraising targets are met or exceeded.
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship:
  • Identify, engage, and build strong relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
  • Manage a portfolio of major donors, ensuring personalized communication and regular updates on the impact of their giving.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of donor thank-you notes, recognition materials, and impact reports to ensure appreciation and engagement.
Development Communications:
  • Lead the development and execution of compelling donor communication strategies, including newsletters, annual reports, and social media content.
  • Work closely with team members to create content that engages donors and highlights the Foundation’s impact.
Leadership:
  • Provide leadership and guidance in all aspects of donor relations and fundraising.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to achieve fundraising goals and build new revenue streams.
Event Collaboration:
  • Work with the Director of Events to ensure that all logistics are in place and the events meet organizational goals.
  • Cultivate relationships with event sponsors and attendees, ensuring positive engagement and support for future events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
  • 7+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, including direct campaigns, donor relations, and major gifts.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising strategies, including direct mail, social media, and digital platforms.
  • Proven track record of successfully cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the Foundation’s mission and impact to diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a collaborative, results-driven approach.
  • Passion for the company’s mission and a desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.
