Alfred University is seeking a Director of Development to provide strategic leadership and oversight of its major gifts program. This role involves managing a personal portfolio of high-capacity prospects and supervising the Relationship Manager/Major Gifts team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fundraising, specifically in securing major gifts, and must possess a Bachelor's Degree, with a preference for a Master’s Degree. This position requires travel and some evening and weekend responsibilities.
The Director of Development provides strategic leadership and daily oversight of the University’s major gifts program, directly supervising the Relationship Manager/Major Gifts team and managing a personal portfolio of high‑capacity prospects. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Philanthropic Relationships (AVP), the Director develops and implements cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies designed to secure major gifts and advance institutional priorities. This position requires travel and includes evening and weekend responsibilities.
$109,147‑$115,431 annually
