Job summary

Factory is seeking a deeply technical Head of Developer Relations to shape how developers discover, learn, and build with Factory. You will own the end-to-end developer relationship, from technical education to community programs and product feedback.

This role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Product, Marketing, and the developer community, enabling you to write code, set strategy, craft content, and represent Factory at conferences and events.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in developer relations, developer education, product management, software engineering, or technical leadership.
• Deep technical credibility with ability to build, demo, and explain modern software development workflows.
• Respected presence in the developer community with track record of shareable content.
• Experience building and scaling developer communities, programs, or ecosystems.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development, coding agents, tools, open source, and emerging practices.
• Ability to translate complex tech into clear narratives.
• Exceptional written, verbal, on-camera, and public-speaking skills.
• Strong product instincts and collaboration with Engineering and Product teams.
• Metrics-driven approach to developer adoption and community investment.
• High agency to build a function in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead Factory’s developer relations strategy across content, community, events, partnerships, and social channels.
• Become a visible external voice through LinkedIn, conferences, podcasts, livestreams, and communities.
• Create tutorials, demos, sample apps, docs, and case studies.
• Show developers how Droids improve real workflows and adoption of Factory’s value.
• Build an active, self-sustaining developer community that learns, shares, and advocates for Factory.
• Develop relationships with influential developers, OSS maintainers, AI companies, and partners.
• Design and execute workshops, meetups, hackathons, launches, and conference activations.
• Establish a feedback loop between developers and Product/Engineering teams.
• Monitor AI and dev tools shifts to keep Factory differentiated.
• Advocate internally for developer-first decisions across product and docs.
