Job summary

Novartis is seeking an Associate Director, Data Operations & Issue Management in East Hanover, NJ (onsite with potential remote/hybrid options). You will lead enterprise data operations, oversee issue intake and resolution, and drive governance across critical data products to ensure trusted, scalable data delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business, CS, Engineering, Analytics, or related field.
• 5+ years in data operations, issue management, governance, quality, or related.
• Experience with incident workflows, SLA tracking, escalation and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data operations and issue management across certified data products and critical data capabilities.
• Manage issue intake, triage, prioritization, escalation, tracking, and resolution for stability.
• Monitor SLAs, issue trends, remediation progress, and operational metrics.
• Partner with data engineering to resolve pipeline failures and incidents.
• Collaborate with data quality teams on root cause analysis and actions.
• Coordinate cross-functional resolution across business, tech, vendors and data teams.
• Escalate risks, dependencies and disruptions for leadership visibility.
• Lead operational reviews, governance forums, and post-incident follow-ups.
• Produce dashboards and reports on risks,SLAs and performance.
• Drive automation and process improvements to reduce recurring issues.
