Job summary

Novartis is seeking a Director, Core Data Management in East Hanover, NJ. Lead enterprise data standards, governance, and AI-ready datasets to enable scalable business value. Role includes mentoring Associate Directors and partnering with data engineering and business teams.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in data governance, enterprise data models, and leadership in a regulated environment, with a strategic, board-ready communication ability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of data management or data architecture experience.
• 3+ years leading teams within a regulated environment.
• Ownership of an enterprise data model or CDM at scale with governance.
• Experience with ODCS, DCAT, SKOS, OWL/RDF standards.
• Familiarity with pharma data sources (IQVIA Xponent/OneKey/Plantrak, Veeva) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve enterprise data standards for core data and data quality.
• Drive adoption of data standards across certified data products.
• Establish trusted, governed, AI-ready datasets to enable business value.
• Lead and develop a team of Associate Directors across data domains.
• Partner with data engineering and business teams to onboard data products.
• Oversee post-launch data operations and governance compliance.
• Maintain operational docs, standards, and delivery metrics.
• Monitor service levels and address operational risks.
