Job summary

UAB is seeking an Executive Director-Institutional Effectiveness to lead institutional reporting, data management, and compliance-related research. The role develops and validates SQL queries, oversees data extraction, and provides accurate analyses to internal and external stakeholders.

The position supports accreditation and regulatory reporting, ensures data quality and governance, and collaborates with IT and academic units to align reporting with university standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, computer science, higher education administration, social science) and seven (7) years of related experience.
• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, institutional research, assessment, BI, or related analytical function.
• Knowledge of FERPA, GDPR, or other relevant regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data submissions and accreditation documentation.
• Prepare standardized institutional datasets for internal/external reporting needs.
• Support assessment processes through data analysis, reporting templates, and evidence review.
• Develop, maintain, and validate SQL queries and data extraction processes.
• Participate in data migration and software implementation by validating data and documenting reporting logic.
• Serve as liaison between offices and IT regarding reporting, data access, system logic, and data validation.
