Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Director of Data Governance (Remote Work Option) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This leader will oversee the enterprise data governance program and help strengthen the quality, consistency, and control of critical data across the organization. The role will partner closely with data owners, stewards, executive stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to advance governance practices in support of business decisions and regulatory expectations. In addition, this leader will shape the technology direction for data governance capabilities and drive adoption of standard processes across the enterprise.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $165,000 – $175,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the enterprise data governance program
• Lead discussions with the Data Governance Council and executive leadership bodies
• Serve as the primary contact for data governance matters across the organization
• Partner with data owners and stewards to define data standards and controls
• Track and report on data quality issues and program KPIs
• Drive change management initiatives for data governance practices
• Define the data governance technology strategy and manage related tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, data management, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in data governance or a related discipline, including 2 years in leadership
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries preferred
• Familiarity with Salesforce and Orion strongly preferred
• Knowledge of data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Informatica
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced degree in a related field preferred
