Job summary

Alignment Health seeks a Director of Data Engineering Analysis to lead end‑to‑end data requirements, quality, and operational insight across its Medicare Advantage platform. You will partner with clinical, actuarial, and technology teams to ensure data accuracy and trusted analytics that drive business outcomes.

The role emphasizes mentoring the data analysis team, enforcing data standards, and owning data operations and interoperability efforts in a cloud-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressive experience in data analysis, data operations, or data management, with at least 3 years in leadership or senior individual contributor roles.
• Healthcare payer/Medicare Advantage environment experience with health plan data domains.
• Proven hands-on data requirements gathering and quality improvement across multi-domain data environments.
• Experience resolving production and operational data issues in regulated, time-sensitive settings.
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one BI tool (Power BI/Tableau/SSRS) demonstrated through work experience or training.
• Working familiarity with healthcare data formats and standards (EDI, HL7, X12) and data interoperability practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Requirements & Stakeholder Analysis — translate end-to-end data needs into actionable specifications.
• Drive Data Quality & Continuous Improvement across health plan data domains to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Own Data Operations & Issue Resolution — guide triage and resolution of Data Ops issues affecting production outputs.
• Apply Healthcare Data Standards & Interoperability — oversee X12 EDI, HL7, FHIR data domains and interoperability.
• Evaluate Data Sources for Completeness & Fitness — assess internal and external sources for analytics and regulatory use cases.
• Enable the Data Platform — leverage cloud data platforms, streaming architectures, and data quality as a service to enable scalable analytics.
• Develop and Mentor the Data Analysis Team — coach and grow the analytics function with leadership and continuous learning.
