Job summary

CleanSpark seeks a Director of Data Center Engineering – AI Data Centers to lead owner-side technical activities across the portfolio. You will coordinate Development, Power, Construction, Operations, and outside engineers to ensure designs meet operational requirements and deployment goals.

You will drive standardization, manage consultants, review studies and drawings, identify risks early, and support BoD standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, architecture, construction management, or related technical field.
• 10+ years in data center, mission-critical, industrial, energy, utility, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering and design activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead review and coordination of engineering and design deliverables across AI data center projects.
• Coordinate civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, utility, and network disciplines.
• Manage external engineering and design consultants.
• Support development and enforcement of Basis of Design (BoD) standards.
• Review technical studies, engineering reports, drawings, and consultant recommendations.
• Identify design risks, constructability concerns, and integration issues early in the project lifecycle.
• Support utility coordination, path-to-power planning, and site infrastructure readiness.
• Partner with Development, Construction, Power, and Operations teams to ensure alignment between design intent and deployment objectives.
• Drive consistency and standardization across multiple site deployments.
• Provide technical recommendations and updates to project and executive leadership.

Job description

The Director of Data Center Engineering – AI Data Centers will serve as the owner-side technical lead responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and integrating engineering and design activities across CleanSpark's AI Data Center portfolio.

This role works closely with Development, Power, Construction, Operations, and external engineering consultants to ensure design deliverables align with operational requirements, constructability, infrastructure standards, and deployment objectives.

The Director will serve as a key technical resource supporting scalable and repeatable AI data center deployments while helping reduce dependency on external design partners.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, energy, utility, or large-scale infrastructure projects
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering and design activities
• Strong understanding of site development, utility infrastructure, and integrated facility design
• Experience managing engineering consultants and technical stakeholders
• Ability to review engineering drawings, technical reports, and infrastructure studies
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
