Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or a closely related field with hands-on development and leadership in SaaS/Fintech.
• Deep SQL fluency and experience building data models, pipelines, and transformations in cloud data warehouses.
• Experience designing dashboards and reports that non-technical stakeholders trust and use.
• Strong grasp of financial, operational, and sales metrics and translating questions into data solutions.

What you own:

The Director, Data & Analytics leads LoanPro's internal analytics function — setting the strategic direction for how data is organized, governed, and used to support decision-making across the business. This is a hands-on role: the Director is an active builder and practitioner who designs and delivers analytics solutions, develops and maintains dashboards and data models, and also owns the roadmap and strategic direction of the function.

The analytics function sits at the intersection of Finance, Operations, and Engineering. The Director, Data & Analytics translates business needs into working data solutions, maintains trusted metric definitions, and evaluates the tools and architecture that make internal data accessible and reliable. As the function grows, this role will expand from individual contributor leadership to managing an Analytics Engineering team.

This role partners closely with Cloud Engineering on the data platform and shared standards, and serves as the primary analytics voice in LoanPro's cross-functional Data Chapter.

Essential Job Functions:

• Analytics development and delivery: Design, build, and maintain the suite of dashboards, reports, and data models that Finance, Operations, and Leadership rely on for decision-making. This includes hands-on SQL development, data pipeline management, connector configuration, and iterative dashboard development. The majority of time in this role is spent in active development — building and improving analytics solutions that are accurate, clear, and decision-ready.
• Analytics strategy and roadmap: Own the direction and prioritization of the internal analytics function. Evaluate and recommend the right approach to data transformation, metric governance, and visualization — balancing architectural soundness with team capacity and business need. Align the analytics roadmap with company objectives in partnership with the CFO and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Internal metric governance: Define, document, and maintain authoritative definitions for LoanPro's core business metrics — including financial, operational, and sales KPIs. Ensure metrics are consistently applied across reporting and that stakeholders have a trusted, accessible source of truth. Own the business metric layer in coordination with Cloud Engineering, who own product and application metrics.
• Stakeholder partnership: Serve as the primary analytics resource for Finance, Operations, and Leadership. Translate business questions into scoped analytics work. Conduct exploratory analysis to surface insights that inform planning and decision-making. Maintain a proactive reporting cadence — not only respond to ad-hoc requests.
• Data Chapter participation: Represent the Data & Analytics function in LoanPro's Data Chapter — a cross-functional community of practice connecting Cloud Engineering and Analytics. Contribute business metric requirements, analytics development standards, and consumption layer perspective. Collaborate with Data Engineering on shared dimension design, catalog tooling, and data quality standards.
• Tool evaluation and vendor management: Evaluate and govern the analytics tool stack — including visualization, transformation, and catalog tooling. Make recommendations that reduce vendor dependency where possible and ensure the analytics layer is maintainable over time. Manage vendor relationships including current platform contracts and any future tool transitions.
• Team development: Determine the timing and structure for growing the analytics function. Currently operating as an individual contributor while building the foundation. Will hire and manage an Analytics Engineer as the function matures and architectural direction is established.

What you need for success:

• 10+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or a closely related field — with a track record that spans both hands-on development and strategic leadership in SaaS or Fintech environments
• Deep SQL fluency and proven experience building data models, pipelines, and transformation logic directly in cloud data warehouses
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering dashboards and reporting solutions that non-technical stakeholders trust and use
• Strong grasp of financial, operational, and sales metrics — able to translate business questions into well-structured data solutions
• Effective across functions — equally comfortable in an architecture conversation with a senior engineer and a strategic planning conversation with a CFO
• Sound judgment on tooling and architecture decisions — knows what to build, what to buy, and what to defer, especially in a lean environment
