Job summary

KLDiscovery invites a Director of Cybersecurity Operations to lead Security Operations, Incident Response, and Threat Intelligence with hands-on depth. You will modernize operations via MDR deployment, AI-informed detection, and a security engineering team organized by functional lanes.

Reporting to the CISO, you will partner with the GRC leader to unify cyber functions, drive automation, and improve threat detection and response across the organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in information security with at least 7 years in a security leadership role.
• Demonstrated ownership of a security operations or engineering function at Director level or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with MDR deployments in a corporate environment.
• Experience deploying security automation such as SOAR, IaC security, or CI/CD security gates.
• Familiarity with cloud-native security (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CSPM/identity controls.
• Excellent ability to translate cyber risk into business language for executives.

Responsibilities

• Own the MDR relationship including SLA management, threat hunts, and escalation.
• Lead IR runbooks, major incident coordination, and post-incident RCA.
• Oversee SOC detection engineering with SIEM/SOAR tuning and automation.
• Develop and deploy a lean security engineering team across endpoints, identities, cloud, and apps.
• Drive security architecture reviews and ensure security is built in from the start of large IT projects.
• Shape tooling strategy across endpoint, identity, cloud, and application security.
