Job summary

Cato Networks is seeking a Director, Content Strategy to lead the editorial direction across marketing and communications. You will translate company narratives into a prioritized agenda, shaping flagship research, thought leadership programs, and content that elevates Cato’s market leadership.

You will partner with marketing leadership to align strategic narratives with business priorities, manage asset strategy across campaigns, and drive AI-powered discovery content.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in editorial strategy, thought leadership, strategic content, corporate storytelling, journalism, or related roles.
• Strong editorial judgment and writing skills.
• Ability to quickly synthesize trends in cybersecurity, networking, and enterprise technology into differentiated narratives.
• Proven ability to develop strategic content for complex topics, including executive bylines and research narratives.
• Experience translating priorities into clear editorial strategies.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across Communications, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Brand, Social, and executive stakeholders.
• Low-ego, team-oriented working style with the ability to influence without authority.
• Analytical mindset with use of content performance and audience insight.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve Cato’s editorial strategy across marketing and communications, translating narratives into a prioritized agenda and calendar.
• Partner with marketing leadership on strategic narratives and business priorities.
• Determine what content to create, update, repurpose, gate, ungate, refresh, or retire based on audience needs and performance.
• Bring a strategic lens to major market moments to identify opportunities to lead.
• Own Cato’s research and flagship content strategy, including reports and thought leadership programs.
• Develop high-impact content and editorial assets, including executive bylines and research narratives.
• Own content strategy for AI-powered discovery and discovery performance.
• Define standards and frameworks for originality, credibility, audience relevance, and measurable value.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Customer Advocacy, Social, Brand Partnerships, and web/content stakeholders to connect campaigns to editorial strategy.
