Job summary

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in Des Moines, IA, seeks an experienced senior leader to drive the Cyber Security Operations program. You will shape policies, standards, and processes aligned with HIPAA, NIST, and regulatory requirements while coordinating risk management across the enterprise.

You will lead change initiatives, incident response, threat intelligence, and vendor risk programs, building a best-in-class SOC and guiding strategic roadmaps for security maturity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years) required.
• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, CISA, CISSP-ISSMP.
• 7+ years in designing and delivering security solutions, with 5+ years in security management.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership of the Cyber Security Operations department.
• Lead organizational change through cyber security strategy updates and policy changes.
• Oversee incident management, vulnerability management, and third-party risk oversight.
• Build and sustain a 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) and security awareness program.
