Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) seeks a Director of Crisis Services to lead the agency’s 24/7 crisis response and stabilization programs in Bremerton, WA. This exempt, full-time role oversees the Crisis Triage Center, Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, and Youth MCOT, ensuring timely, coordinated care across services.

The candidate will provide administrative and clinical leadership, supervise staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with leadership to advance treatment and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, social services, or related behavioral health field.
• Specialist – minimum 5 years of supervisory and administrative experience.
• Experience in community mental health.
• Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration and Washington State DOH licensure in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and clinical leadership for crisis services programs, including the Crisis Triage Center (CTC), Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), and Youth MCOT (YMCOT).
• Ensure coordination and continuity of care across crisis programs and KMHS services.

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a Director of Crisis Services to provide leadership for the agency's 24/7 crisis response and stabilization programs. This position helps ensure individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies receive timely, coordinated care. The role works closely with agency leadership to strengthen crisis services and support continuity of care across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and clinical leadership for crisis services programs, including the Crisis Triage Center (CTC), Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), and Youth Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (YMCOT).


• Ensure coordination and continuity of care across crisis programs and other KMHS services.


• Support smooth transitions between programs and levels of care.


• Ensure adequate psychiatric consultation and clinical coverage for assigned programs.


• Provide ongoing supervision, support, and direction to program managers and other direct reports.


• Recruit, hire, develop, coach, and retain qualified staff.


• Conduct performance management activities and support annual performance review processes.


• Establish annual program goals and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.


• Participate in quality review activities and performance improvement initiatives.


• Collaborate with agency directors, managers, and supervisors to develop and monitor program budgets.


• Support efforts to maximize revenue, maintain meaningful operational data, and address facility needs.


• Implement and monitor agency administrative and clinical policies.


• Ensure clinical documentation is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.


• Identify community needs and support the development of services that address gaps in behavioral healthcare.


• Represent KMHS in community partnerships, service planning efforts, and professional collaborations.


• Serve as a liaison between KMHS and community agencies, providers, and stakeholders.


• Support the development and implementation of county and regional behavioral health plans.


• Ensure programs operate in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual requirements.


• Participate in organizational visioning, strategic planning, and long-term goal development.


• Contribute to the development and implementation of the agency's treatment philosophy.


• Promote positive staff engagement through responsive leadership and effective communication.


• Participate in community relations activities that advance KMHS's mission and strategic goals.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION: Master’s degree in psychology, social services, or other behavioral health fields.

EXPERIENCE: Specialist – minimum 5 years of supervisory and administrative experience

Experience in community mental health.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration. Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 388-877-0500. Must maintain a Washington State Department of Health license in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications

• EXPERIENCE: Expert – established subject matter expert with 7+ years of relevant experience. Previous budget management experience.


• LICENSURE: Washington License (LICSW, LMFT, or LMHC).
